Work

I really enjoy my work.  I have helped more than 5,000 women find a solution for bladder issues that works for them.  That solution is tailored to the person and can range from finding the right pads to a surgical cure.  Andrew Carnegie said, “My heart is in the work” and that is true for me!

Personal Stuff

Personally, I am married to my college sweetheart and have two kids.  My kids are 12 and 14 so we have just climbed onto the teen years roller coaster and I am strapping in- but so far, so good.  I have a happy dog and a grumpy cat.  I live in the Pacific Northwest and love the rain and the resulting lush green landscape.  I love a good cup of coffee and time with family and friends.  I’ve never found my perfect hair style so I change it frequently.  Right now it is long but I am sure there is a pixie cut in my future.  I drive a stick shift and have recently fallen in love with paddleboarding.

about me

Data

really like data.  Like, a lot.  I like numbers, statistics and epidemiology- Anthony Fauci is my hero.  I spent an extra year in school to get my Master’s and to learn more about data and studies and interpreting data.  That means I can tell you how well things work and where they can go wrong.  I can summarize the data for you and tell you what we know and what we do not.  While everything on this site is my interpretation of the data and my opinion alone, it is all data driven.

Bias

I have a few personal disclosers, things I do that might bias my opinions.  It is important that you know about these things.  I am a surgeon and on the governing board of my local surgery center.  I am on the medical advisory board for Renovia, a company that makes a pelvic floor muscle trainer.  I have been a member of the American Urogynecologic Society’s Quality Committee for several years and have worked on our quality registries and quality improvement projects.
